The trend report for 2023, published by the Bundesverband für Schmuck + Uhren (BVSU), which means German Jewelry + Watches Association, predicts a fancy and colorful year.
According to Blickpunkt Juwelier, the report assumes that the trend towards colorful jewelry and fancy designs from 2022 will continue, which is probably also a reaction of customers to the stressful political world events. In addition, quality is very much in demand: customers prefer "noble basics", i.e. high-quality pieces in the entry-level price range, rather than cheaper costume jewelry. Laboratory diamonds will also continue to establish themselves in the jewelry sector, and demand for men's jewelry is also rising.
